Vestel ID Team's Revolutionary Design Wins Golden A' Design Award

The Borderless TV was inspired by the desire to reduce the cost of high-end televisions without compromising on aesthetics. The design team sought to create a product that would stand out in the market with its slimness and narrow bezel dimensions, targeting the state-of-the-art segment of the TV market.

What sets the Borderless TV apart from its competitors is its unique production methodology. The design team utilized a novel technique to structure the main body, using high-quality back metal of the display and omitting the plastic back cover on the whole back surface. This approach resulted in a thinner look, distinguishing it from other TVs in the market.

Despite being a top-tier product, the Borderless TV offers customization opportunities for different customers. Its stand design is suitable for various coloring and coating options, and different cover designs can be applied to create new overall forms.

The Borderless TV was realized using innovative technology. The cell is adhered to the frame with a special section design for cell placement, creating a "borderless" effect. The frame is made from glass fiber plastic, and the back part is made from aluminum sheet metal. In-mold decoration is applied on the sheet metal, which carries the cell and other layers of the display.

The project, which lasted almost 10 months from design idea sketching phase to mass production, faced several challenges. The most difficult part was creating a new way of thinking and injecting a new production methodology that was entirely different from the usual mass production approach. However, through reverse engineering methods and several trial and error phases, the design team was able to overcome these challenges and create a product that truly stands out.
